The Real Me

Lets just be point-blank.  I’m a farmer.  OK, there I said it.  Not the farmer type that hog ties pigs or castrate cattle.  I grow things.  Plants, blueberries and some veggies.  I’ve been doing it for years on the family farm.  That’s my side job.

My real job is being a loving father to my wonderful daughter who at this moment is 3 and a half.  She can make me be a kid again, a hard-nosed father and a wimp all in the same day.  I’m the bath king, the book reader and the good night kisser.  I can do it all.  Except…

Except what my wife can do.  She is the wife/mom of all moms.  She is a part-time nursing school student, full time wife and overtime working mother.  She is crafty as all get out.  She can make a piece of junk children’s bed look like a million bucks.  She can put up with my crap and still smile about it. She is our lighthouse.  Without her, I have no idea what life would be like.

For me life is full.  I haven’t much time for many things in life.  So I run.  I run when I can as far as I can and where ever I can.  I prefer the woods and trails of Virginia.  I’ll delve a bit further into this subject later on.

For now, that’s who I am.  Oh and I brew my own beer.

  5. Hey now….don’t just talk about the beer…how about handing some of that out to your new blog readers, hmmmm????????

In an alternate universe I’m a farmer, too. Complete with rubber boots and a pickup truck. In reality, I live in an apartment in the middle of the city. I’m growing basil on my windowsill and that’s all the farming I’m doing these days.

At least I own some rubber boots.

Ah well…some day I’ll be out there growing veggies, too. Just need to get some other life details in order first. 🙂

    Welcome to the blogosphere, btw!!

    • Thanks for reading momma. Farming is easy. Ever have any questions, feel free to ask. Wish I could ship some homebrews to you, but thats pretty much illegal in the Commonwealth of VA. We have lame laws.
